Junior Environmental Consultant (Tanzania)

As a Junior Environmental Consultant in Tanzania, you will helpdeliver permitting, assessment and compliance work while learning fromexperienced colleagues across disciplines.

The opportunity

As a JuniorEnvironmental Consultant, you will support environmental projects fromapplication through reporting, helping the team meet quality, time and budgetrequirements. The work spans technical writing, coordination with clients andauthorities, and site activities. It is an opportunity to build practicalconsulting experience, contribute to work with real environmental and socialoutcomes, and grow through varied projects, formal mentorship and guidance fromsenior specialists.

What you will do

• Assistwith environmental permitting and compliance processes under Tanzanianrequirements, including the Environmental Management Act, EIA and AuditRegulations, and Mining Act.
  
• Preparedocumentation for environmental authorisation applications and support thedrafting of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and EnvironmentalManagement Plans (EMPs) under supervision.
  
• CompileEIA and EMP reports and other submissions for internal review, clients andregulatory authorities.
  
• Contributeto legal compliance checks and audits with guidance from senior colleagues.
  
• Coordinateproject administration and logistics for mining and other environmentalapplications, keeping deliverables organised and on schedule.
  
• Work withspecialists from other disciplines and assist with communication with clientsand government departments.
  
• Participatein site work, including assignments under strenuous field conditions.
  

Requirements

What you will bring

• A degreein Environmental Science, Environmental Management or a related field.
  
• 2 to 4years of environmental consultancy experience, including practical applicationof the Environmental Management Act and EIA and Audit Regulations.
  
• Clearreport-writing, organisation and communication skills, with care for qualityand detail.
  
• A willingness to learn, collaborate withcolleagues and work on site when projects require it.
  

Additional Requirements

• Projectmanagement certification or NEMC registration as an Environmental and/or SocialSpecialist.
  
• Experienceconducting environmental and social impact assessments in mining againstinternational standards such as the IFC Performance Standards and EquatorPrinciples EP4.
